Hype.
I’m in a way surprised it took something of this type this long to hit production.
Using Hype, you can create beautiful HTML5 web content. Animations and interactive content made with Hype work on desktops, smartphones and iPads. No coding required.
The no coding required thing will always scare me, but I’ve become less of a zealot about it. The truth of the matter is there’s definitely some innovation here.
Part of me loves the fact that the barrier to entry to writing off the wall HTML5/JavaScript/CSS3/jargon-based “websites” has been completely removed with Hype. The other part of me hates it. I’m all too familiar with the phrase “that’s not hard to do, right?” and tools like this help to sharpen the back side of that double-edged sword.
At the end of the day, though, this is something brand new that’s worth a look. It’s not really in my ballpark insofar as a plausible tool to use on client work, but I imagine we’re going to be seeing a ton of early Flash era style sites cropping up should Hype be embraced and/or copied by other vendors.
Swinging back to the front-ender in me, the resulting code is like nails on a chalkboard to me. That’s (perfectly!) okay though because this tool [in my opinion] is meant for hobbyists looking to get their content on the Web in what they see as a cool way, and I’m all for that. Here’s to spreading the HTML5 word.
Would hobbyists pay 50 bucks to play around with this kind of thing though? :/

Yeah,
The sad part of this is it isn’t as HTML5 as they’d like us to believe. It still outputs HTML4 and javascript into DIV tags. There’s no Canvas at work it.
A Neat tool, and i’m glad there is work being done in this direction, but I don’t think it is all that it’s hyped up to be. no pun intended.
Also, I agree with Peter in that I don’t think most hobbyists are willing to pay $50 to play with this type of a tool. At least not yet.
